Pig Skin Fence
The “Macraes Road Pigskin Fence” is a variant on the Cardrona bra fence, but in this instance it is the hides of locally caught wild pigs that line over one kilometer of road, with hundreds of skins on display. From time to time deer skins will also be added. The first pig skins were placed on the fence by the Tisdall family whom own the land the fence is situated on. It has drawn national attention appearing on the news and in newspapers and is an eyecatching subject for photographers.
It doubles as a showcase of the work going in to keep on top of the feral pig problem which is ongoing in the area.
